Noble: does he make your first eleven?
Seems to have been a running theme for a couple of seasons now about his place in the team and yet, our captain is still there in the mix. I would accept our manager resting him from time to time, pulling him after 70 mins or so, or not picking him for tactical reasons on occasions, but, for me, he still brings something to the team - leadership. We can’t have a midfield full of your Lanzinis, Declans, Andersons or Wilshires - and Noble is still an important component who has a role to play out there on the park. Takes a stonking pen too. So, for me, despite lacking particular talents of some in the squad, I’d still have him in my first eleven more often than not. Thoughts?

Erh, read his analysis on Anderson again, he was absolutely spot on about him, if you or anyone else wants to drag it up.

Depends who and where we are playing them. City/Liverpool/Chavs and the Scum away I'd say we play him. Other than that he's a sub for me now..

I think we should start calling Sanchez, Sansom.

Since his new braids and hair extension ( what is that all about) he looks to have gained strength and be able to move about a bit more!

to be fair last summer Tim Vickery who many seem to think knows what he's talking about was probably more or at least as positive about Sanchez than he was Anderson and Balbuena

A lot of teams do...trouble is somebody half as good as those two will still be extortionately expensive unless you get lucky with a signing nobody else picked up...which is rare these days

eusebiovic,

In other words, we need the next Toure or Vieira.

Could work. Snodgrass will be CHIPPENHAM into the BOX. We may need Alan DEVONSHIRE back, though. Big player. If one of highs and lows. But a great EXE player. Conor COVENTRY will be all lost.

Keep CALNE and carry on. (That's it. I'm done.)

A lot of running to be done, that is for sure.

At least we won't have opposition players scoring from the halfway line

If we have Wiltshire in the middle of every game, it's going to be a very tough season.

(It's a grammar gag)

No. Him and Wiltshire both in the middle we’ll be murdered every week.

Every time, first name on the bench

Mark Noble playing further forward looks good but when Scott Parker left managers played him in the same role. Noble can still pick a pass and go by players in the right areas but can’t chase back.

Re: Noble: does he make your first eleven?
The good thing about Noble is he is proper West Ham. With the support being so far from the pitch, even his presence gives us a 12th man on the pitch for motivating and encouraging others. He has been a good loyal servant gone up the ranks and I'm certain unlike the cunts that have bailed out on us he will be happy to be a squad player and trust and see El Pels reasoning. Against the big teams he seems to shine and also understands the importance of our derby games. He wouldn't be selected if he isn't good enough. Simples.

Re: Noble: does he make your first eleven?
We need a player with Kouyate's athleticism.

But with Noble's brain and ability to pass to his own team.

Is that asking for too much?

Yes.
You can moan as much you like about him being slow and not great a tackling but the team plays its best as a collective with him in it.

Noble's leadership !?!...shut the fuck up

What leadership traits does he show then on the park?

That's a main issue for us, we have no vocal.presence

Re: Noble: does he make your first eleven?
Fornals isn't a Noble replacement for me, he ain't gonna be captain and he ain't going to be tackling anyone. We will ship goals by the ton if this is the case.

Lily Hammer 6:11 Fri Aug 2
Re: Noble: does he make your first eleven?
Perhaps we’ll be fine without him, but I suspect we’ll miss his leadership and canny experience as usual. Declan May one day be a great captain, but it’s too early for him right now.

Obviously we need our next leader to start showing the right qualities now, as we can’t rely on Noble forever, or even much longer, but my gut tells me he’s still the best we’ve got.
